I found no damage to the train set as in cracks or broken pieces, I didn't have any c size batteries to test it, but the battery compartment was not corroded and would think it should work.
The train as the four cars you see and 6 train tracks so it will go in a circle. I am unsure when produced since over a long period of time according to their web site. I am pretty sure this one is in the 90's since all the stuff I got as been 90's or earlier from this estate.
