I belief this is from 50's or 60's though at moment couldn't find anything to date it just a few for sale.
The friction part is suspect I got to work some, but other times train didn't move much, but at this stage of its life it is more a collector item to sit on shelf.
Toy comes with box you see; one flap is missing on one end of box and box has 2 small holes. Finding one with box is not easy.
Train is about 8" long and 2" tall and wide.
